Analyze a location and day
California only · Rolling 30-day window · Prepared daily predictions. Choose a city and day to retrieve its experimental 48-hour fire activity score.
Daily predictions use conditions at 21:00 UTC and are prepared after 21:15 UTC (2:15 p.m. PDT / 1:15 p.m. PST). Before then, yesterday is the latest completed day. New California cities need initial preparation; historical inputs may include later data revisions.
What this model represents
mvp-v1-model is a trained gradient boosting model that combines weather, drought, recent trends, terrain and fuel information. Higher scores indicate conditions associated with newly satellite-detected fire activity in the surrounding area during the next 48 hours.
The score ranges from 0–100. It is an uncalibrated model score, not a percentage chance of fire, a forecast of fire spread, or the Fire Danger Index. Performance at new locations remains experimental. Missing required inputs produce “Prediction unavailable” with a reason.
